There is a short 1/2 mile trail from the entrance and exits of the cave
some crystals in the rock outside of the cave entrance
There were some sleeping bats in the ceiling of the cave (we also saw a pack rat near the entrance)
beautiful cave
many stalactites had water forming new growth on the ends
large chunk of crystal
popcorn formation
different shades of white
flat areas show where the ancient water levels were in this cave
broken off rock, exposing the crystal inside
Old ladder up to access an upper room (no longer in use)
lovely formations
these are cones and not stalagmites, because their are no corresponding stalactites.
one of several "chimneys" in the cave, the upper parts reveal limestone instead of crystals
large broken piece of crystal
some more chimneys
a black light on the crystal cave wall
iridescent glow after the light is turned off
more the cave
the exit door in the distance (there are several areas where you need to duck low to avoid hitting the ceiling)
This large formation is big enough to be a "throne"
a fossilized hoof from a prehistoric horse
cave exit
View to the east of the Great Basin on exiting the cave
fossilized sea sponge near the exit of the cave on the outside.
