West Twin Beach

We stopped at West Twin Beach along Hwy 112. There is a parking area right at the beach. We walked along the beach for about 0.4 miles. We saw surfers and some shore birds.

Tipsoo Lake

Our second stop on going around Mt Rainier today was Tipsoo Lake. After a picnic lunch, we hiked the loop trail around the lake, about 0.4 - 0.5 miles. The wildflowers were in bloom. Paintbrush by Tipsoo Lake with a view of Naches Peak.

Twin Firs Trail

On my drive home, I stopped at the short 0.4 mile loop hike: Twin Firs Trail. This is a nice little walk in the woods with about 30 ft of gain along the loop.

The trail starts here and comes out a short ways down the parking area.

Be careful at these large logs, not to hike around behind them, that is a boot track that stops 0.25 mile in the forest, it is not part of the loop.

Beautiful forest
