Fisher Towers

The Fisher Towers are east of Moab, Utah. The hike is 4.4 miles round trip, but we found a spur trail (possibly the old trail?) to make our hike today 5.6 miles with an overall elevation gain of 850 ft.

We started out in the early morning.

It was beautiful watching the sun rise over these towers.

The trail goes up and down and winds in and out between the tower walls.
Wide angle shot at Fisher Towers

Loved the various rock formations.

Another wide angle shot:

We could see the moon high in the sky,

and watched the sun lighten the tower walls.

There was a ladder to help us drop into the ravine,

before the trail rose again up the other side of the ravine.

The Titan

Such a fun hike!

As the trail rose, we could see over the near by canyons and see the Colorado River to the north.
View of some of the towers from the other side.
The trail then goes out on a ridge line,
 with great view.
Better views of the Colorado River.

 The end of the trail.

Great place for a snack and enjoy the views.

On the trail back, we noticed a window and near here a spur trail going south from the Fisher Towers.

Lots of interesting rock formations.

Great views of the Fisher Towers.

We momentarily lost the spur trail,

before realizing it went under this stone arch.

The trail continued out on another ridge.

Pano of the views along this ridge to the south:

Steep drop off here!

We enjoyed a lunch break here before returning along the trail.
One of the side canyons along the trail.
We saw climbers here on our way back.

Some of the wildflowers we saw in bloom today:
