Bow Tie and Corona Arches

A beautiful and short 3 mile hike with 480 ft of elevation gain to see three arches west of Moab, Utah. This trail is well marked with cairns.
The trail begins by crossing the railroad tracks.

Then begins to climb, passing large cliffs.
Part way up the trail, we could see Pinto Arch in a corner of the cliffs.

The trail continues up, and goes to the right, then a sharp bend to the left out on bench where Bow Tie and Corona Arches are easily seen.
Along the cliff walls to the left of the arches, are some carved out steps with a cable handrail to guide you up the slick rock.

There is a ladder to help you up the next short steep section.

Corona Arch is about 150 ft across.
View through the backside of Corona Arch.

It started to rain as we headed back down the trail. I was glad for the cables, as I slipped on the wet slick rock coming down.

View of the Colorado River as we returned down to the trailhead.
