Van Sickle Connector to Vista on Tahoe Rim Trail

We drove to Van Sickle Bi-State Park to hike the Van Sickle Connector Trail on the Nevada side up to a Vista on the Tahoma Rim Trail, 7.7 miles round trip with an overall gain of 1,500 ft. This trail is in a lovely pine forest with lots of boulders and views of Lake Tahoe along the way.
The trail gains almost 600 ft in the first mile, the switchbacks provide several view of Lake Tahoe below.

Sickle Falls is seen from a bridge on the trail, 1 mile from the trailhead.

As the trail continues uphill, we crossed several small streams, this one came from a spring under the rocks.
Here the trail goes between large boulders and

leads to more views of Lake Tahoe below.

The Van Sickle Connector Trail ends at the junction with the Tahoe Rim Trail at 7,777 ft.

View along the Tahoma Rim Trail looking to the south, we headed the other direction, to the north.
We discovered here, the moss does only grow on the north side of the trees (unlike in Washington State where the moss grows on all sides of the trees).

Boulders and views of Lake Tahoe
We took our lunch break at the Vista.
The sun came out as we were hiking down, the blue skies turning the color of Lake Tahoe from gray to blue.
