We drove up to Arizona Snowball, north of Flagstaff to hike to Bismarck Lake via the Arizona Trail. This was an 8 mile round trip hike with an overall gain of 800 ft. We only saw 8 other hikers along this trail today. The trail started at 9,300 ft and crossed part of the ski slope. Looking up towards Humphreys Peak.

The trail alternated between aspen groves, open meadows and pine forest. We joined the Arizona Trail after a mile along a connector trail.
In the meadows, we could see peaks to the west.
After 2.5 miles along the Arizona Trail (3.5 miles from the trailhead) we took the side trail to Bismarck Lake.
