We drove up Kyle Canyon Road northwest of Las Vegas to the Cathedral Rock Trailhead. The trail up to Cathedral Rock is 3 miles round trip with 1,000 ft of gain going up to 8,600 ft. View of Cathedral Rock near the trailhead.
Early on the trail we had a great view of nearby Echo Cliff.

During our lunch break on top of Cathedral Peak we heart distant thunder and headed back down the trail.
