Parker Lake

We drove out the Parker Lake Trailhead north of the June Lake Loop Drive to hike up to Parker Lake. We hiked 4.5 miles round trip with 550 ft of gain. From the beginning of trail, we had nice mountain views.

The trail soon enters the Ansel Adams Wilderness.

We enjoyed hiking this trail today, it was snow free and had no water crossings.
There were wildflowers in bloom along the trail, like these phlox.

A snowy peak to the north, along the trail.

As we continued along the trail in entered the forest and followed along Parker Creek.

First view of Parker Lake along the trail.

Views as hiked along the south shore of the lake.

As we returned toward the trailhead, we had a nice distant view of Mono Lake to the east.

Balsamroot along the early part of the trail.
