Mitchell Peak

Hiked to Mitchell Peak in Sequoia National Forest, the Giant Sequoia National Monument and the Jennie Lakes Wilderness. A 6.6 mile round trip hike with 2,100 ft elevation gain.
The trailhead is reached after a long drive on some rough forest service roads
There were some snow dusting on the trees
Marvin Pass is about 1 mile from the trailhead.
There was a notice at the trailhead stating that the trail signs were stolen so frequently, they were unable to replace them.
Fortunately some one has written the names of the trails on the post which used to hold the trail signs.
nice granite boulders along the trail
Another 3/4 of a mile leads to the next trail junction
Found some snow on the trail as we gained elevation
Some easy scrambling up to the summit of Mitchell Peak

On top of Mitchell Peak
10,375 ft of elevation
views of the Sierras in the distance
