Lakes Trail to Pear Lake

Love the Lakes Trail hike up to Pear Lake in Sequoia National Park. We choose to take the Watchtower route going both ways. 12.4 miles round trip with 2,800 ft of elevation gain.
The first part of the hike is in the forest

It was 27F when we started hiking, there was some light dusting of snow along the trail as we gained elevation.
About 3 miles from the trailhead we reached the views at The Watchtower

Looking down into the valley below

a bit more snow as we gained elevation

Great views of the Sierras as we continued along The Watchtower route up to the lakes

some icicles on the trail

I love this hike!
Heather Lake is 4.1 miles from the trailhead

Another mile down the trail leads to Aster Lake (and Emerald Lake, which we stopped at on the way back from Pear lake)
