This morning we drove up to Coal Bank Pass to hike the Pass Trail to Engineer Mountain and then a short ways up the climbers path on Engineer Mountain. Our route was 5.6 miles round trip with 1,350' of gain. Coal Bank Pass is at 10,640 ft. Peak above the parking area as seen from Pass Trail.

The first couple of miles of the Pass Trail is in the forest. We passed both a small pond and
a large pond with a beautiful mountain reflection.
