Balcony House Mesa Verde National Park

This morning we took a tour of Balcony House at Mesa Verde National Park. The tour was very interesting and included climbing several ladders and going through tight spaces among the ancient ruins in an alcove under the mesa top. Photo is a zoom from the Soda Canyon Overlook Trail further down the canyon. This view cannot be seen from the tour or above the alcove.

View of Soda Canyon from above the alcove as we wait for our tour to begin.

A long steep ladder leading up into the alcove where Balcony House is located.

We went through this narrow passageway to reach the second chamber.
