We drove up to the Slab Camp/Deer Ridge Trailhead in Olympic National Forest near Sequim WA to hike up Deer Ridge to Deer Park, 10.5 miles round trip with 2.950 ft of gain. We saw more deer than hikers (10) today on the trail. The trail is mostly in the forest, with only a few peek a boo views before heading up the north slope of Deer Ridge.
Hiking up along the north slope of Deer Ridge we would have some great views of Gray Wolf Valley and over to Mount Baldy and Greywolf Mountain along with other Olympic peaks.
The trail enters Olympic National Park after about 3 miles.
