Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park

We visited Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and hiked two trails for a total of 5 miles and 800 ft gain.
First, we did the 0.8 mile Redwood Grove Loop Trail and enjoyed seeing many large old growth redwood trees.

It was peaceful to walk past these giant trees.
We then hiked up the River Trail to the Eagle Creek Trail to the Pine Trail to the Observation Deck and came back along the Ridge Fire Road and the Pipeline Road to return via the River Trail.
There were many beautiful trees along the San Lorenzo River.
We hiked through more redwoods.
And arrived up at the Observation to look out at the views:

This area was once an ancient sand dune, shark teeth and fossilized sand dollars have been found here.

We could see as far as Monterey Bay.

And back through the redwood forest.
