Shedroof Mountain via the Salmo Divide Trail

We drove up Sullivan Creek Road and took forest road 2220 to the Salmo Divide Trailhead to hike to the northern end of the Shedroof Divide Trail to Shedroof Mountain. This was 8.8 miles round trip with about 1,800 ft of overall gain. We saw two backpackers today and no other people.
The first 3 miles of the trail are along the Salmo Divide Trail heading northeast. We saw lots of pearly everlasting and paintbrush along the old road portion.
We also found lots of tiny ripe wild strawberries, they are so delicious! The old road continues for one mile before entering the forest and the Salmo Priest Wilderness.
This ridge line trail alternates between forest and open slopes, here we can see Shedroof Mtn in the background.
Other mountain ridge lines in the area.
At 3 miles, the Shedroof Divide Trail goes to the south, leaving the Salmo Divide Trail. We saw lots of huckleberry bushes full of huckleberries along this trail.

About one mile south on the Shedroof Divide Trail, we took a boot path up to Shedroof Mountain.

love looking at the layers of the ridge lines here.
