Hazel and Hub Lakes

We drove up the Ward Creek Road to the Hub Hazel Lakes Trailhead. This was a 6 mile round trip hike with  about 1,900 ft of overall gain.

This hike was mostly in the forest.
There were some big trees here.
We saw many queen's cup with their beautiful blue berries.
We could hear pike "eeping" as we hiked past the talus slope.

We saw Dipper Falls (60 feet) about 1.2 miles up the trail.
We saw a grouse on the trail, and just a few feet up the trail
were two more grouse.

a small stream crossing along the trail

We decided to hike up to Hub Lake and see Hazel Lake on the hike back down. Heading up above Hazel Lake we crossed an open area with pretty fall colors.

We saw a very tall pine drop between the trees.

Hub Lake with fall colors on the slopes below Eagle Peak.
We found a nice rock to sit on along the lakeshore and watched the trout jumping.
View of fall colors as we hiked back down towards Hazel Lake.
Near the east end of Hazel Lake, there is a boot path that drops 100+ feet down to the lakeside.
