Two Medicine Lake loop and Upper Two Medicine Lake

We drove to the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park to hike all around Two Medicine Lake with a side trip on the far end up to Upper Two Medicine Lake. This was 12 miles with about 500 ft of overall elevation gain. As we drove up near the park entrance, a moose ran across the road in front of our car.

Panoramic View from the east end of Two Medicine Lake:

We started our hike near the campground and hiked up the north side of Two Medicine Lake along the Two Medicine Lake trail.

There were pretty flowers along the trail.
 View of Sinopah Mountain
The trail went along the southern base of Rising Wolf Mountain, there were lots of waterfalls from the melting snow
Panoramic view looking south along Two Medicine Lake:

We had a couple of water crossings, trying to stay on the rocks to keep our feet dry.
At the end of the Two Medicine Lake trail, we joined the Upper Two Medicine Trail
Wide angle photo looking at Sinopah Mountain, Lone Walker Mountain and another peak.
We had occasional snow patches on this section of the trail, there were many large moose prints.

 View of Pumpelly Pillar

About a mile up the trail we took the short spur trail over to Twin Falls
We saw lots of avalanche lilies in bloom as we continued along the trail.
Lots of fields of glacier lilies

More snow as we neared Upper Two Medicine Lake:
Upper Two Medicine Lake, great spot to sit and enjoy lunch:

At the east end of Upper Two Medicine Lake, we could see a waterfall coming off the outflow.
After returning from Upper Two Medicine Lake, we took the connector trail to the west end of Two Medicine Lake

and joined the trail along the south shore of Two Medicine Lake
Only the western and the eastern ends of this trail had views of the lake, the long middle section is in the forest.  There are options of joining other trails and seeing more falls, we had seen them on our trip to Glacier last summer.
Fun suspension bridge to cross Aster Creek.
As we neared the end of the trail, we went by beautiful meadows with Rising Wolf Mountain in the background.
