Palisade Falls

We had time to do two short hikes near Bozeman today. We drove down to the Gallatin National Forest. The first was a short hike to Palisade Falls (1.4 miles round trip) with 235 ft of elevation gain.
At this elevation there is still snow on the ground.
Most of this trail is the forest on a paved trail, with some peek-a-boo views of some peaks

As we neared the end of the trail we could see the falls between the trees.
Palisade Falls tumbles over basalt cliffs (wide angle)

Palisade Falls are 80 ft high
a short ways beyond the falls, we could see more of the nearby mountains.

We saw wild violets and glacier lilies in bloom along the trail.
