We drove up to Deer Park in Olympic National Park to hike part way along the Grand Ridge Trail. We hiked out of Maiden Peak West and back, about 7.75 miles with 1,740 ft of overall gain. There were wildflowers and gorgeous views, a lovely day!
Although the snow had melted in this forested portion of the trail, there were still plenty of avalanche lilies in bloom.
There was a variety of life to see, including this tiny blue-eyed Mary underneath a mushroom rising through the forest floor.
Mountain peaks and alpine wildflowers in bloom, wonderful!

Heading back, beyond Grand Ridge we could see a distant Mt Baker (left edge of photo) and Glacier Peak (right side of photo)
