Grand Park via Lake Eleanor

We drove up to the Trailhead to Lake Eleanor off of FR 7. About 3 miles from the trailhead is a large boulder in the middle of the road. We were able to just get by on the right side. We went through Grand Park and about 1/2 mile along the Northern Loop to a viewpoint. Overall 9.5 miles round trip with 1,400 ft gain.
Some parts of the trail are vey muddy.
Lake Eleanor is about 1mile from the trailhead.
Before Grand Park, the majority of the hike is the forest.

In the lower meadow, there were some lupine in bloom.

Pond in the lower meadow.

We had two small snow patches on the trail as we neared Grand Park.

There were lots of avalanche lilies in bloom.

As we walked through Grand Park we saw magenta paintbrush and a peek of Mt Rainier.

The view improves as we continue along the trail.

The park was filled with cinquefoil,
and some lupine

A lovely day in Grand Park!

Mount Fremont to the left, Rainier to the right.
Phlox along the trail.

At the trail junction with the Northern Loop Trail, we went to the right (west) for about 0.4 mile to one of my favorite viewpoints in the park. Through the woods, to this first glimpse of the mountain.
Love this wide open view!
