After hiking the Memaloose Hills trail this morning, I drove to the Rowena Crest Viewpoint, on the Oregon side of the Columbia River to hike both the Tom McCall Point trail and the Rowena Crest Trail. First, I hiked up McCall Point, 3 miles round trip with 1,000 ft gain. Tom McCall Point is in the center of this photo.
The trail was lined with balsamroot and lupine
I loved how the sun lit up the blossoms of the balsamroot between the trees.
View towards the Columbia River to the east.
Butterfly on balasmroot
Further up the trail, to began to see paintbrush.
And to the north across the Columbia River, Mt Adams in the distance

Closer to the top of Tom McCall Point, I could see Mt Hood to the west
