The trail started a short ways up from the gate, Snow covered about 90% of the route. In the morning the snow was pretty firm so we were able to hike up without snowshoes. In the afternoon the snow was slushy with occasional post holing.
The main route is a closed forest road, we were able to stay off to the side and have plenty of room for social distancing.
There were several creeks along the way.
