Ingalls Creek

We wanted a wildflower hike, so we headed out north of Blewett Pass to hike along Ingalls Creek. The Ingalls Creek Trail is 15.5 miles long with 4,400 ft of elevation gain and has junctions with several trails in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. It is a popular spot for backpackers. We hiked out 6 miles with 1,600 ft of elevation gain for a 12 mile round trip hike.
The wildflowers are plentiful!

There was so much lupine in bloom it gave a lovely fragrance to the spring air and added color to the burnt area.
There are several places where Ingalls Creek can be approached from the trail.

 Having a fabulous hike together!
There was lots of water flowing in Ingalls Creek
We took our time enjoying the flowers.
 Nature's garden walk
Sometimes the trail is right next to Ingalls Creek,
other times, the trail rises above and away for the creek.
 So gorgeous!

Further along, we began to see distant alpine peaks.
Looking across Ingalls Creek to Navajo Peak and Navajo Pass.

There were a couple of snow fields on the trail, one was filled with branches and tress, evidence of an avalanche from this winter.

We saw some waterfalls coming down of the peaks
 Everywhere we looked was enchanting.

We hiked a short ways beyond Falls Creek Camp  to a spot on Ingalls Creek for a lunch break.

 One still butterfly

We enjoyed the hike, both the wildflowers and views going back the way we had come. Took a break along the creek.

 Fabulous day!
Some of the wildflowers and other flora we saw along the trail today:
