Reflection Lakes Snowshoe

Decided to get out of the rain, by opting to snowshoe at Mt Rainier NP. Decided to take the marked route from Narada Falls parking lot to Reflection Lakes via Inspiration Saddle to avoid the avalanche slopes. This is a 3 mile rt with overall 800 ft of elevation gain. With a foot of new snow, we had a nice workout breaking trail.

Paradise Creek seen near the trailhead.

The first 0.35 miles follows along Paradise Creek.
With the freezing levels dropping, it was nice to see snow covered trees.
Lots of fresh snow along the closed Paradise Valley road.
The trail then follows the Low Lakes Trail over Inspiration Saddle. There were no views of Mt Rainier today, but it was gorgeous to be out in the fresh snow.

As we neared Reflection Lakes, we could see Pinnacle Peak through the clouds for just a moment.

Reflection Lake from the west shore.

Lots of snow on the wood bridge that crosses the creek near the lake.
Pano of Reflection Lake, after the hail encouraged us to return back to the car.

A brief glimpse of the Castle, Pinnacle and Plummer Peaks in the Tatoosh Range before the freezing rain started.
Before long we had nice large snowflakes falling as we went over Inspiration Point.

A wonderful day in the snow!!!
