Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Beautiful flat trail with some side trails. We choose to hike out to the gazebo at the end of the boardwalk, 4 miles round trip.
We started on the trail that went through the woods and past the pond. The algae covering the pond was bright green. The boardwalk in the woods was very wet and slippery.
There were some asters still in bloom.
We then took the trail along the top of the dike. We saw a great blue heron along the side of the stream.
The boardwalk over the water/estuary was is the sun and mostly dry.
This boardwalk has interesting turns and is a mile long.
There is a gazebo or covered area at the far end of the boardwalk.
It was interesting to watch the clouds move across the sky.
On a clear day, there would be a nice view of Mt Rainier to the east.
View from the far end of the boardwalk/gazebo.
In the far distance are the Narrows Bridges. On a clear day, we would also see Mt Baker far to the north.
Seagull resting on the boardwalk railing
 Seagull flying off
The tide is going out, we are see more exposed land on the way back. There is another great blue heron out there.
We walked back along a closed gravel road for a bit and watched this deer graze,

until the sound of helicopters above us scared the deer away.
