Lake Angeles Winter Hike

Headed out to the north Olympics to hike up to Lake Angeles. 7.4 mile round trip with 2,350 ft of elevation gain. Weather forecast was for rain in the lower elevation and snow at the lake.  We went prepared, but were blessed with good weather until we were heading back. Light snow and then very light rain, rain coats/ponchos were not need.
The trail goes through a second growth forest (because of an old forest fire).
The trail crosses a couple of creeks.
It is a fairly steady uphill climb.
We ran into snow off and on along the trail, it was well packed down and snow shoes were not needed. Several sections were very icy, we were glad we brought our microspikes.
Very little snow/ice on the second crossing.
The forest was so pretty with the light dusting of new snow in some sections.

The marsh that is near the lake was frozen over.
I love the mixture of snow and moss on branches.
The outflow area of Lake Angeles was not frozen.
Pano of Lake Angeles today. Snow and ice over most of the lake, Klahhane Ridge hidden in the clouds.
