High Hut

Beautiful but blustery day. We headed out to the Mt Tahoma Trails near Ashford and hiked/snowshoed up to High Hut from the lower parking area. 8 miles rt and 2,400 ft in elevation gain.
We found the trails very well packed down. Hike up along the side of the road without postholing. The trail is mainly in the forest but there were some views. Here Mt Rainier is beginning to peek behind the hill.

Far off to the south, we could see the rim of Mt St Helens in the distance.

Mt Adams could be seen behind the hill where Snowbowl hut is.
 Approaching High Hut
Pano from High Hut looking east to south: Mt Rainier, Goat Rocks, Mt Adams hiding behind a small peak and Mt St Helens
Pano from High Hut looking northwest to east: Olympic Mtns and Mt Rainier
