Hawkeye Point, Goat Lake to Snowgrass Flats Loop Hike in the Goat Rocks Wilderness

Drove down to the Goat Rocks Wilderness off of FSR 21 to the Snowgrass Flats Trailhead to do a loop hike up to Goat Lake via Jordan Basin and across the Lily Basin Trail to Snowgrass Flats and back to the trailhead with a side trip up to Hawkeye Point. Fabulous hike with 14.3 miles and 3,000+ ft in elevation gain.We didn't see the side trail from Snowgrass Flats parking area to the Goat Lake Trail, so we did the short road walk to the Goat Lake trailhead.

The Goat Lake trail is 2 miles through woods opens up with views of Jordan Basin. There were lots of wildflowers in bloom along the trail. Hawkeye Point can be seen in the distance.

There were several streams in Jordan Basin.

We saw several marmots in the boulder field.
5 miles from the trailhead, reach Goat Ridge,  1 mile side trail up to Hawkeye Point with 831 ft of gain

There were some snow fields on the trail to Hawkeye Point. Here a view of Mt Rainier.

From Hawkeye Point views Mt Rainier, Johnson Peak, Egg Butte (with 360 degree views we also saw: Old Snowy with Packwood Glacier, Mt Adams, Mt Hook, Mt St Helens, Juniper Ridge, Stonewall Ridge, and Angry Mountain)

Looking down at Goat Lake and over to Old Snowy fro Hawkeye Point.

On our way down from Hawkeye Point, we hiked over to explore some of these rocks on the ridge west of Hawkeye Point.
