Peavine Falls

 Visiting family near Birmingham Alabama, we went up to Oak Mountain State Park and hiked the Orange Trail to Peavine Falls (there are over 20 miles of hiking trails in the park). This trail was 4 miles round trip and with the ups and downs, was about 800 ft of elevation gain.  Beautiful wooded walk with lots of wildflowers in bloom.


 The young pine trees reminded me of palm trees.








 After the orange trail joined another trail, it went along the creek,
 and arrived at Peavine Falls, here looking down on the falls,
