Deer Ridge Spring Hike

Hiked the Deer Ridge Trail in the Olympic National Forest to Deer Park in Olympic National Park today. 10.3 miles round trip with 3,400 ft of overall elevation gain. The first 1.5 miles is a gentle flat to slight incline through the forest.

The trail then becomes more steep as it climbs up Deer Ridge in the moss covered trees.

At 2.75 miles from the trailhead, there is a bench, where you can rest and enjoy the views of Gray Wolf Ridge.
The trail continues to climb up Deer Ridge,
where the views become constant as the trail continues along the steep side of Deer Ridge.
Not a lot of snow as we got closer to Deer Park
view of Blue Mountain in Deer Park, we did not go up Blue Mountain today, as the wind was increasing and there would be no view across the Straight of Juan de Fuca.

Although we saw two other hikers on the Deer Ridge trail, ours were the only footprints in the new snow.
The new snow at Deer Park.

We continued to enjoy the views of Gray Wolf Ridge on the return trip.
