Tolmie Peak

We drove up to Mowich Lake at Mt Rainier National Park to hike up to Eunice Lake and Tolmie Peak, about 5.6 miles round trip with about 1,450 ft of overall gain. A peek a boo view of Mt Rainier from the trail along Mowich Lake.
After leaving the Wonderland Trail for the trail to Eunice Lake, we hiked down past rocky cliffs and wildflowers.
The trail then went up switchbacks to Eunice Lake, view of the fire lookout up on Tolmie Peak from the west end of Eunice Lake.
We saw several fields of avalanche lilies near the lake.

There was lots of beargrass on the hillside going up Tolmie Peak, with lovely views of Eunice Lake below and Mt Rainier in the near distance.

Volunteer Rangers were staffing the fire lookout and they let us inside. An awesome opportunity for us today!

The gorgeous views of Eunice Lake and Mount Rainier from Tolmie Peak. For  quite awhile we were the only hikers on Tolmie Peak.

On our hike back down, we took a side trail to shore of Eunice Lake towards the east end, passing this small pond.
