Iron Bear Peak and Joker Mountain

We drove up to the Iron Creek Bear Creek Trailhead along Forest Road 9714, near Blewett Pass. We decided to hike to both Iron Bear Peak and to Joker Mountain (which was new to us0. Overall 8.5 mile round trip witty 2,170 ft of gain. We only saw two other hikers on the trail.
There was some fall color along the trail.
And the western larches were turning golden. On the way up to Iron Bear Peak along the Teanaway Ridge Trail, the larches were over on the other ridge lines.
We had a glimpse of Mt Rainier among the clouds (zoom)
View of larch covered slope through the branches.
We decided to hike past Iron Bear Peak, and continue towards Jester and Joker Mountains, here we encountered large larges long the the trail.
We enjoyed walking among the golden larches, their color brightening up this cloudy day.
When we reached the trail junction with the County Line Trail, we decided to head that way to Joker Mountain. View along the trail to the south.

We saw these large rock formations.
About 40 feet below the top of Joker Mountain was a nice viewpoint, pano view to the west.

We continued to the top of Joker Mountain, which was mostly tree covered. There was a view to the south.

Hiking back along the County Line Trail to the Teanaway Ridge Trail, taking in the fall beauty of these golden larches.
