North Wilson Mountain Trail

We drove up to Sedona today to hike the North Wilson Mountain Trail and went to both the Sedona Overlook and the North Canyon Overlook on Wilson Mountain. Overall 10 miles and 2,500 ft of elevation gain.
We soon some lovely rock walls towering above us,

and entered the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness.

The first part of the trail is steep heading up gave us nice views of the rocky landscape and canyon views.

The North Wilson Mountain Trail joins the Wilson Mountain Trail after 2.2 miles, from here it is another 1.4 miles to the Sedona Overlook on Wilson Mtn, seen here.
some lovely groundsel along the trail.

Lots of yellow peas here.
On Wilson Mountain, we choose to go to the Sedona Overlook first.

From the Sedona Overlook, it is 1.8 miles to the North Canyon Overlook. Gorgeous views of the canyon and the distant San Fransisco Mountains
