Mazama Ridge Snowshoe

Nickole and I headed up to Paradise at Mt Rainier National Park to snowshoe up to Mazama Ridge. We took the Paradise Valley Trail to 4th Crossing up to the ridge. Because the visibility started to diminish, we turned around after 1.5 miles and 800 ft of elevation gain.
Although there wasn't fresh snow overnight, the wind covered the tracks from snowshoers and skiers from the previous days. A lot more snow than when I was up here a month ago. It was fun laying down fresh tracks this morning.
Great ice hanging down over the creek.
Looking southwest towards the Tatoosh Range from Mazama Ridge.
Looking north towards Mt Rainier, hidden in the clouds above the skyline trail
Lots of beautiful snow covered trees up on the ridge.

Up on Mazama Ridge we headed parkways along the Paradise Glacier trail, when we decided to turn back because of limited visibility.

The visibility improved going down from Mazama Ridge, still having fun!

It was cold, windy, snowing and we loved being up on the mountain today!
