Franklin Falls Winter Hike

Met up with some nice ladies to go on a short hike to Franklin Falls today. The trail is located near the Denny Creek Camp on the west side of Snoqualmie Pass. The hike is a 2 mile round trip, but the snow plow stopped about 0.25 - 0.5 miles before the trail, making the hike about 2.5 - 3 miles rt. I arrived early and enjoyed watching the river run through the snow.

There were some nice views along the road,

and the trail was beautiful covered in snow.

There were several places to view the creek along the trail,

and we could see a small cascade through the trees.
Our first view of Franklin Falls through the trees.

The trail down was steep and icy, so glad to have microspikes today.
View from the bottom of the trail.

The ice formations are so beautiful and varied

Fine icicles dripping off the edge of the snow near the falls.

So happy to meet wonderful women who love to hike!
