Pete Lake

We drove out to Cooper Lake in the Salmon Fa Sac area to hike up to Pete Lake. We hiked out a short ways beyond Pete Lake for 9.7 miles round trip with 500 ft of overall gain. We only saw two other hikers on our way back to the trailhead. There was a light covering of snow along the entire route.
The trail starts along the Cooper River.

One of 13 stream crossings over the trail today. Most were easy to step over.
Most of the trail is in the forest, but it did cross one talus field.
The only prints we saw in the snow this morning were animal prints: elk, rabbit, squirrel, coyote and more.

Some views along Pete Lake, the water was so still today, there were wonderful reflections.
