I've been wanting to hike the Lewis River Falls hike for sometime, and decided today was the day! I parked at the Lower Falls parking area and hiked up to just beyond the Upper Falls to Taitnapum Falls and back. About 8 miles round trip with 500 ft of gain. I only encountered two other hikers on this trail today.
I choose to heed the sign and stick to the trail.
Lower Lewis Falls is very close to the trailhead. Beautiful!
The trail is easy to follow and goes through a gorgeous forest.
Fresh tracks in the snow, I think they are skunk prints.
Lovely bridge goes over some falls, that I could not find a name for and could not see as there is an overhang on both sides of this creek.
From the bridge looking down.
bright red leaves in the fresh snow
About 1-1/2 miles up the trail, it goes up to the Middle Falls parking area before descending down to Middle Falls.

Upper Copper Creek Falls
A short side trail goes down to Middle Falls
Middle Falls
The trail to see Lower Copper Creek Falls is closed
After Middle Falls the trail goes along the base of a rocky cliff
There were lots of weeping walls along this portion of the trail.
These were the only fungi I saw today
Looking up at water pouring off the rocky cliff
There were views of Lewis River though the trees along the trail.
Some fall color downstream from Upper Falls

The trail goes up along another cliff on the way to the Upper Falls view area, lots of water coming off the cliff.
It was so peaceful along the trail with a light dusting of snow.
View of Upper Falls through the trees
A short side trail leads to the Upper Falls view area, view of Lewis River heading down into Upper Falls
Wide angle view of Upper Falls from the view area
About 0.2 miles above Upper Falls is Taitnapum Falls on the Lewis River.
Hiking back down the trail
Sunbeams through the trees
I decided to return to the Lower Falls view area before returning to the parking area.
The lighting on the falls was wonderful!
