Tuck and Robin Lakes Backpack

We drove to the Tucquala Meadows Trailhead at the end of FSR 4330to backpack up to Tuck and Robin Lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Overall a 16 mile round trip hike with 4,100' of gain. On this warm sunny day, we were glad to start out in the forest. On the first day, we hiked 5 miles to Tuck Lake to set up camp for 2 nights.
We enjoyed the wildflowers that were blooming in the forest and in the meadows. The first 3 miles are mostly flat.

Cathedral Rock, Mt Daniel and Hinman Mountain behind Hyas Lake.

There were several creeks across the trail that were easily crossed.

The last 1/2 mile or so up to Tuck Lake was very steep.
Up here were some nice views looking back down to Hyas Lake and over to Cathedral Rock, Mt Daniel and Hinman Mountain.
So happy to reach our destination: Tuck Lake!
We found a nice campsite close to where we could walk a short distance to relax and enjoy this view.
On the second day, we left our camp set up and took lighter packs to spend the day up at Robin Lakes. We had this gorgeous view as we made our way around Tuck Lake.
To get up to Robin Lakes, the "trail" crosses the outlet of Tuck Lake on this log jam.
It is only a mile to reach the saddle above Robin Lakes, but it is a steep route with some scrambling.

There are quite a few scrambling areas.
Nice open views as we get close to the saddle above Robbin Lakes, here looking back down on Tuck Lake.

We took a short break by these rocks on the lake shore. After our break, we explored the area, heading up towards Granite Peak on the other side of the basin.

From the saddle below Granite Mountain we saw these beautiful tarns.
We took a different route back towards where we started, so much to see!

We saw some mountain goats across one of the lakes before we left the Robin Lakes Basin

Then it was time to return down to Tuck Lake

We found it a slow, but beautiful descent.

Our third and last day was leaving Tuck Lake and returning back to the trailhead. Gorgeous morning and view to start our hike!
We found more fresh blueberries on our way out.
And another lovely view at Hyas Lake.
