Margaret Lake

We drove up to the Lake Lillian Trailhead to hike up to Margaret Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This is a 5.5 mile round trip hike with 1,900 ft of overall elevation gain.

The trail is a short distance up a logging road. We saw some fall colors here.

Turn off to the trail to Lillian Lake via Mount Margaret.

The trail gains about 1,600 ft going up through the forest with a few views to the south. It was cloudy today, so we did not see Mt Rainier.

Up on the crest, the trail 1/2 mile trail down to Margaret Lake splits off from the main trail.

From the ridge we could see Mount Stuart in the far distance and soon entered the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
There was not much water in Lake Yvonne.
Mount Margaret and Marget Lake from the south shore
Nice fall colors along Margaret Lake and on Mount Margaret

some light rain while we were at Margaret Lake

We had some light snowfall both going up to Margaret Lake and on the hike back down.

Before we returned to the trailhead, the sun came out and lit up the fall colors.
