Maiden Peak via Grand Ridge

We headed up to Deer Park in Olympic National Park to hike out to Maiden Peak on Grand Ridge, we hiked about 9 miles with 2,100' gain. We were happy to see there were still some wildflowers in bloom.

We also saw lots of fungi, some where quite large.

I loved this combination of partridge foot and smaller fungi.
There were lots of butterflies among the wildflowers.
The first couple of miles are in the forest, before the trail comes out onto the open ridge.

Great reveal of mountain views as we rounded Grand Ridge.

The views are panoramic along Grand Ridge:

We reached Maiden Peak by going around to the south side and headed up Maiden Peak.
