Grand Peak Olympic National Park

We drove out to the end of Obstruction Point Road to hike up to Grand Peak via Lillian Ridge and Grand Valley. Overall hike was 13 miles with 4,000+ ft gain.

We saw a few wildflowers in bloom up on Lillian Ridge.
Mt Olympus beyond Hurricane Ridge, lots of harebells in bloom along the trail today.
Looking towards Grand Ridge, some blue tarns below and orange paintbrush along the slope.

We saw some grouse as we headed down to Grand Valley

As we descended down into Grand Valley we saw more wildflowers along the trail and an assortment of fungi

Looking across a field of wildflowers as we hiked past Moose Lake

Love to see wildflowers growing in nature's rock gardens!

We opted to hike around Gladys Lake and take a break on the east shore.
Moose Mountain reflecting in Gladys Lake

We saw lots of butterflies among the wildflowers today

we also saw several frogs alongside the trail

We walked over to see a couple of the tarns in Gladys Basin on our hike back down into Grand Valley.
One of them was filled with tadpoles

and those in the stage between tadpole and frog.

As we hiked down through Gladys Basin, I looked back at this lovely view, pond in the foreground, Grand Peak in the background
