Amabilis Mtn

 We drove out to the Cabin Creek Nordic Ski Area to snowshoe up Amabilis Mtn today. We had fog and clouds most of the day.

There are many groomed trails here. We choose the red route up Amabilis Mtn. We heard there was a way for snowshoers to take a short cut, but we didn't see the short cut and stuck to the groomed route. From the parking area, it was 10.8 miles round trip with 2,100 ft of gain. The freshly groomed trail was so well packed we ended up carrying our snowshoes the entire trip.










As we neared the top of the trail, the clouds parted momentarily and we had views of these snowy Cascade peaks.

 We had another view of them further up the trail.
