Mt Townsend Hike

It's National Get Outdoors day, so we are off on a hike. The weather forecast is for cloudy and 40% chance of rain, so we head out to the rain shadow on the Olympic Peninsula for our hike.
The hike to Mount Townsend from the upper trailhead is 8.2 miles round trip with 3,000 foot elevation gain. The trail starts climbing immediately. The first mile or so of trail is lined with rhododendrons, some were in bloom.

As the forest thinned and the trail climbed in the meadows, we saw lots of wildflowers. We could hear, but not see the waterfall today, because of the clouds.

Very limited views at the top of Mount Townsend. We were back in the woods with good tree cover before the rain started. A good day in the outdoors!
