Easton Ridge

This morning I drove out to Easton to hike the Easton Ridge Trail, 6 miles roundtrip with 2,240 ft gain. It was 38F at the trailhead this morning when I started.
The trail goes by this lovely waterfall before climbing up 1,700+ ft in a series of switchbacks up to the ridge.
There were lots of paintbrush in bloom along the trail.
Although it was mostly cloudy while I was hiking, there was a rainbow over Kachess Lake.
The wildflowers were soggy, beautiful and abundant. Here is a group of vanilla leaf with a trillium.
When I reached 4,000 ft there was a brief snow flurry that turned into a short drizzle.
paintbrush and lupine
penstemon
currant and serviceberry
The main snow patch was just before the boulders at the end of the main trail. The snow was hard packed and easy to cross.
The boulders at the end of the main trail. There was no view for me this morning. Great excuse for me to return on a sunny day.
As I was heading back down the trail, the sun started to come out. A view of Kachess Lake with some blue sky.
