It was very foggy when I started the hike. I parked at the Tipsoo Lake area in Mt Rainier National Park and went clockwise around the loop.
some nice reflection in the fog in the pond by Tipsoo Lake.
This trail joins part of the PCT as it goes from Chinook Pass over the highway and through the William O Douglas Wilderness on the way to Dewey Lake.
As the fog lifted and the clouds moved around, I had a view of Naches Peak.
Took the boot track around the tarn on the east side of Naches Peak.
The water was very still and I was able to get some nice reflections in the tarn as I hiked around it.

The gray jays were the only animals I saw on the trail.
I didn't see any other hikers this morning while I was on the trail.
View looking down to Dewey Lake. Soon after this, the PCT continues south heading to Dewey Lake, where the Naches Peak Trail reenters into Mt Rainier National Park.
There was only a little bit of fall color along the trail.
another tarn on the south side of Naches Peak
Was interesting to watch the clouds move around the landscape
some of the foliage appeared purple in the morning mist

The fog returned as the trail descended downwards through the forest.
