Oldman Lake

We hiked up to Oldman Lake from the Two Medicine Campground after a light snowfall. This hike was 13.5 miles round trip with 1,830 ft of overall elevation gain.
View of Rising Wolf Mountain from the parking area where part of the campground was closed for the season.
The trail starts by crossing the Two Medicine Creek below Two Medicine Lake. On the other side of the bridge, the trail goes left on the Two Medicine Lake Trail (towards the Dawson Pass trail), our trail was to the right.
The trail circles around the east end of  Rising Wolf Mountain. View looking across Two Medicine Creek to the campground and peaks to the south.
We had good views of the local peaks in the clouds.

We saw a few golden larches along this trail.
The trail travels along the north side of  Rising Wolf Mountain
Flinsch Peak in the distance, Oldman Lake is to the right of this peak.
another view of Rising Wolf Mountain further up the trail
Heading up the trail towards Flinsch Peak

Enjoyed seeing some golden larches along the trail.

There were some strong wind gusts (30-40 mph) that would lift up the snow and obliterate the view.

there were some bright red berries
a look back down the trail as we neared the turn off to Oldman Lake

Pano at Oldman Lake: Flinsch Peak and Mount Morgan.

Some nice red rocks below Red Mountain

There was some fall color
As we hiked back to Two Medicine Creek, the sky was a bit bluer!

Back to the trailhead.

Loved the drive back across Highway 2 towards Kalispel, so many golden larches!!!
