Palisades Trail Spring Hike Washington

This is a great hike to do in the spring and in the fall, when the higher elevation hikes are covered in snow. We did this hike last November, going all the way to Little Ranger Peak. We needed to go on a shorter hike today, so we went for about 9+ mile trip with 2000 ft elevation gain, going a bit past the second lookout along the Palisades.
The first part of the trail climbs steadily along Dalles Creek with a couple of great waterfalls as the snow is melting.

There was a small amount of snow along one part of the trail. No traction devices were needed.

We had some nice views as the trail took us out along the edge of the Palisades.

We saw a nice assortment of wildflowers: trillium, wood violets, small blue eyed Mary, some small flowers I don't know the name, current blossoms and calypso orchids (also known as fairy slippers).
