Hall of Mosses and the Spruch Trails

This afternoon we drove to the Hoh River Visitor Center at Olympic National Park to so a short hike in the Hoh Rain Forest. We combined the Hall of Mosses, the Mini Trail and the Spruce Trail for about 2.2 miles. This is a gorgeous area: lots of moss on trees, tall trees, ferns, water and more! Along the Spruce Trail, there is a short spur trail to the bank of the Hoh River. The trail also crosses Taft Creek (a spring fed creek) several times. Some of the views:
As we neared the end of the trail, a grouse walked right up to us, we kept back, here is a zoom photo
We saw some early wildflowers and some shelf fungus

Hall of Mosses

This afternoon, we drove to the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center in Olympic National Park to hike the Hall of Mosses Loop Trail, about 1 mile. Gorgeous forest! We also saw elk across the Hoh River as we were driving out.
