Sauer's Mountain

We drove out to Pershastin to hike up Sauer's Mountain, 5 miles round trip with 1,750 ' gain. This trail starts on private property with access given by the oweners. After leaving the Sauer's property the trail enters the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest. The balsmroot was in bloom.
Going up the switchbacks, at the fork in the trail, we took the trail on the left where the sign side view 0.2 miles.
At the end of the 0.2 miles, straight ahead is a sign that says "private property, no trespassing". I took this photo from above the sign.
And from the same spot, used the zoom lens to take this photo.
From the viewpoint, the trail continues up from a switchback to the right. From here the trail enters the forest with some ocassional views of the nearby peaks.
Another view through the trees
Near the end, the trail crosses a closed forest road and the trail continues up on the left side of this point.
This is a short steep section, a bit of scrambling.

Returning back down the trail, we took the main route back, view from the trail junction.

Sauer's Mountain

Went to the east side of the mountains to hike in the sun this morning. We did the Sauer's Mountain Trail in Pershastin off of Hwy 2. This is a 6 mile round trip hike with 2,000 ft of gain. The trailhead and beginning of the trail are on private property.
The owner has placed art work along the trail that goes through his property.

About 0.5 mile up the trail, the trail splits, we chose to go clockwise where there were some nice views of the snow capped peaks in the Enchantments.
After a short ways, the trail leaves the private property and enters the National Forest.
 Balsomroot was beginning to bloom.
There was another trail that crossed private property, we stayed off of that trail, and headed to the right, continuing on the main trail.

 Some views along the trail

There were lots of glacier lilies in bloom today.

It was too cloudy to see the distant Glacier Peak today.
Before reaching the logging road, a sign warned of the possibility of active logging.
The trail continues up on the other side of the logging road.
We found the short scramble on the left side a bit easier to climb up.
Shortly after crossing the road, we reached the top of Sauer's Mountain.
View to the east on the way down the trail.

we had a very pleasant hike this morning!!!
