Running Eagle Falls, Glacier NP

After our hike to Scenic Point, we did the short walk to Running Eagle Falls in the Two Medicine area, 0.6 miles round trip.

note water flows out from the middle of the rock as well as over the top, hence the nickname Trick Falls. In the summer, the water can only be seen coming out of the lower portion. Sometimes in the Spring, the water flowing over the top obscures the water coming out lower. I feel so blessed that we saw the falls when both sections were easily seen.

Running Eagle Falls Glacier National Park

This trail is in the Two Medicine Area. It is a 0.6 mile round trip hike to Running Eagle Falls (also called Trick Falls). It is a nice flat hike to a waterfall. The trail is in the woods, with most of the wildflowers gone.

But there were still some wildflowers in bloom.

Our first look at Running Eagle Falls. When the snowmelt is high, the water also runs over the rock above where the falls come out of the cave. This late in the summer, the water only fall out of the cave in the rocks.

We then spent a couple of hours kayaking on Two Medicine Lake before the thunderstorm arrived.
